Gluten free recipes for Christmas
Last year I have written a special post, dedicated to our real Christmas menu with links to recipes, and special notes on the timeline for all preparations. For this year Christmas table some traditional dishes will stay, some new ones will be added.
Our Christmas menu for this year:
Cured salmon with horseradish sauce
Sour cream, horseradish and dill sauce is prepared by mixing 2 parts of sour cream with one part of commercial gluten free horseradish and one part of finely chopped dill.
Smoked trout and vegetable salad
or fresh crab salad with vegetables
This salad has either smoked trout, or cooked fresh crab meat, mixed with fresh and cooked vegetables (cooked carrot, fresh onion, fresh or dill cucumbers (or both), canned baby peas), hard-boiled eggs, with the dressing made from 2 parts of gluten free egg mayonnaise and 1 part Maille Dijonnaise.
Herrings with layered vegetables (herrings under “fur coat”)
It is a layered salad of herrings picked in brine, onions, sour cream, hard-boiled eggs with cooked root vegetables (carrots and beetroot, I do not use potatoes, present in the traditional recipe), topped with gluten free mayonnaise.
with creme Anglaise,
dairy free version here
Kiev cake, new for us, and absolutely amazing! (Hazelnut meringue, layered with 2 creams: vanilla cream with Calvados and chocolate cream, recipe to be published)
I can suggest more recipes, suitable for Christmas table.
Dried apricots, raisins, cranberries and walnut tray bake (reduced sugar and fat recipe).
I am happy to answer any questions regarding all the above recipes. Happy planning!
